There are a few misunderstandings in this thread.

VetNurse.co.uk is and always has been for VNs, Veterinary Nursing Assistants, veterinary nursing students, veterinary surgeons and others working in practice. It is also open to those directly associated with the profession, like suppliers and manufacturers, and publishers.

The site is NOT open to the general public, and never has been. That will have been clear to most by the choice of memberships available on registration.

The great majority of members are veterinary professionals.

However, members of the public do slip through the net from time to time!

I have now added the following message on registration:

STOP!

THIS WEBSITE IS FOR MEMBERS OF THE VETERINARY PROFESSION ONLY.

Veterinary nurses, veterinary nursing assistants, student nurses, and those working in veterinary practice may register. Registrations will also be accepted from suppliers of products or services to the veterinary profession.

Of course, anyone CAN register - the problem is that it is impossible for us to police to any large degree. How on earth would we verify every single veterinary nursing assistant working in practice?!!

However, I believe most people are honest, and don't join something like this under false pretences.

But you can all help to police the community. IF YOU SEE SOMEONE ON THE SITE WHO IS SUSPECT, SEND ME A PM WITH A LINK TO THEIR PROFILE.

I will check they are bona fide, and if not, cancel their membership.

I presume most of the people are those who register, forget they've registered and never come on again, or set up a new account because they forget they've registered/forgotten log in details. Plus the anon accounts regular users have set up.

yes I take part in a number of these forums and I am not that keen on them. They turn into private bitching areas very quickly sadly

I used to be a memeber on a different forum, and there was a restricted 'room' so to speak for members with over a certain amount of posts.. and only they could have access to that particular room..

its an open forum, pretty much anyone can register, hence getting all the people who want to get into pracrtice coming on here.
