Mine is up for renewal - I have been paying just over £36 per month for the last year - checking out prices today for the same level of cover with £250 excess as

Re: Home insurance

After being shunted around so many departments whilst trying to sort this out on the phone on Monday I ended up totally losing my rag with them! Is it resolved ?probably not - but difficult to say as I lost track of what was being said by the half dozen or so people I spoke to - so I asked if I could go into the branch and sort this face to face? - er no because Natwest banking and Natwest Insurance are a seperate entity even tho when I took the insurance out I distinctly remember sitting in the bank with an advisor to do so?

so much for the ad they have running at the moment that promises to beat your renewal quote by 25 quid. they rang me back to ask the reason I wasnt renewing with them - so I told them they were too expensive and had found a cheaper insurer - they asked the amount so I told them, they looked at my insurance again and no they were still more expensive by a considerable amount. BUT did I realise my insurance with them would give me lots of extra cover that wasnt offered by the other insurer? ie 'family' cover which is absolutely fantastic seeing as there is only me! so I would be paying for cover I wouldnt even be needing.

In the finish I have gone through a broker - bit more expensive than on line maybe but at least I know I have got the cover I need at the best possible price

Re: Home insurance

I pay around £12 a month with Tesco and get clubcard points too. I HATE NatWest. I left them as soon as i could. They helped me get me loads into debt as a silly student. They charge loads too - although TBH ALL banks charge extortionate amounts for silly little mistakes. They should forgive the few pennies and only charge for amounts like £20 and over or something. It sucks. And they do all this and get us all in the s**t for it...greedy f**kers. I hate them...grrr

Re: Home insurance

As I started reading this, I thought you were gonna name Barclays as the bank, as I know of 2 or 3 people who have recently been screwed over by them regarding home insurance, quite scary to think there's others doing it too....

So much for Nat "we're so commited to customer care West......

Re: Home insurance

Definitely pays to shop around...I do it every year no matter who I have my insurance with.. I usually get my annual quote shop around, go back to my provider and they, 9 times out of 10 give me the same deal, saves me having to change, but if you have to then go for it.... dont just ever assume your provider is doing the best deal.... usually they are not. It's the same with anything, life/house/car insurance etc..........shop around guys

Re: Home insurance

Seriously!! you've been with them since leaving school and they charge you for going 4p overdrawn!!??!! I bet there is some bum - not working, constantly over their overdraft and the bank won't put effort into charging them!

Hope you get it sorted - tehy should at least re imburse the charges!!
