Yes, The College of Animal Welfare do a variety of bitesize supervisory skills courses at our Leeds centre. We cover everything from the interview process to appraisals and disciplinary procedure. The good thing is that each one is 2 hours and only cost £28! You can pick and choose from the subjects you require a little bit more understanding on.

http://www.hotcourses.com/uk-courses/Certificate-in-Management-Studies-CMS-courses/page_pls_user_course_details/16180339/0/w/28323255/page.htm

there is also a Diploma in Management studies, but you need a Degree to study for this:

http://www.hotcourses.com/uk-courses/Diploma-in-Management-Studies-DMS-PgDip-courses/page_pls_user_course_details/16180339/0/w/28323245/page.htm

Both courses are part time so could fit around work. Both are offered by Bolton college which ain't far from your nexk of the woods.

Re: Head nurse courses

Point out to your boss that doing courses outside the vet profession ie with the 2 l have posted there you are out meeting people, being an ambassador for the practice and passing on cards (l suggest you take some) and reaching potential clients.

Re: Head nurse courses

Thanks very much for the ideas, will be looking into them and asking the boss for some pennies

Re: Head nurse courses

Contact your local chamer of commerce and business links. it does not have to be nursing as supervisor skills are importaint in all work areas and the above 2 are good to ask for help.

Re: Head nurse courses

Hello Loobylou,
