I once applied for a job, hand delivered the application. Got a letter saying after my interview i hadn't got the job! So i phoned to see what was going on. Turns out they'd sent me the wrong letter. The place had been filled, but the poor organisation wouldn't have given me a good first impression if i'd been offered the job!

I've recently applied for several jobs - and only heard back form a couple - just think its plain rude for them not to respond! Also get really pissed off when you go for interview then don't hear anything!!

Even if you got a reply saying they got your letter and would be in touch later or a 'thanks but no thanks' would be good at least you would know where you stood.

I must say poor communication from a practice would seriously annoy me and put me off.

i can't do this tho- no phone number given, and as the practice hasn't opened yet i can't look them up

I agree - just a 2 min email makes a big difference, especially in your perception of the practice!

I always follow any job apps up with a phone call 3 or 4 days later, asking if they have recieved my CV etc.

But you aren't advertising. I applied for a job and didn't hear for a couple of weeks! Made me wonder if they even got my application. My job I am starting soon replied within 2 days! I was very impressed!

i applied for 5 job adverts , and only heard back from one!! even a no thanku wouldve done!! and they say theres a shortage of nurses, no wonder really!!

This sort of thing really annoys me, there is no excuse for not replying. I expressed an interest in a job about a month ago and I did get a reply saying the person would be away until the 23rd and I too have heard nothing since despite me emailing again to say I hoped they had received my cv ok. Its just plain rude. I would email again if I were you but don't hold your breath they are obviously not very organised
