oscar my first cat of my own was named after oscar the grouch on sesame street

willow was a kitten crawling in fleas - got her only 3 days after oscar and was named after the flea product called willowthrin

saffan and rompun again two cats

tefal - a kitten that had an iron fall on her head and forever had a strange shaped head

maggot the white rex I hand reared

fossil the tabby cat

Schroedinger or 'dings' the cat

mozart the thoroughbred x Irish draught. Ivor the Welsh cob and Riley the thoroughbred

flymo and hover and emily the sheep

trigger bluebell and bullit the donkeys

the geese 'the home gaurd' aka manwairing, pike, fraser, godfrey, vicar, verger the warden........ there were 11 in total and we said no more because we were running out of characters names

roadrunner, penelope, and mutley the chickens and dick dastardly and colin the cockerels

ebb and flo the gerbils and then sharon, tracey and dorien the next 3 gerbils

hiss and snap the garter snakes

moby and jaws the goldfish

My three rats were called Ricki Lake, Oprah Winfrey and Trisha Goddard.

Had a hamster called Brian. Named him after my mums bf because I thought it would be funny.

My very special first dog was named Nirvana - it was 1994 and Kurt Cobain had just died - I was 14 - nuff said! Over the years this somehow mutated to Niggy, then Niggy Pooch, but she answered to many names, including Banana and Noodle Pooch! Clever border collies rock!

My current pets - well Pixel is thus named as she has but one brain cell - or as my niece put it - one pixel of brain! Pumpkin kitty is called Pumpkin as he is Pixel's son, and I sooooooooo wanted him to be a ginger boy.... but he came out b&w.... plus he has a triangle shaped patch on his nose, so his sunday name is Pumpkin Pythagorus - or Pumpkin Pie lol!

Spot Dog already had her name when she came to us, but she gets called Pot Pot now

My next guinea pig is going to be called Crumpet! Not a famous name, but i like it!

I hate when clients name their animal the wrong name for the sex, then get irritated with you when you get the sex wrong!!!

I was once presented with a springer puppy for first vax, who was called Robert. Not Robbie, or Bobby, or anything cute, Robert.

Also a FEMALE cat called Graham. She was grey...

Once I met 2 gerbils with really bizarre human names, I cant remeber exactly but it was something like Julie and Peter. The owner told me her son had named them after his friends parents!!!!!

My old girl who is sadly no longer with us was named 'Cleo' after Cleopatra, she looked very sphinx like when she was little

My little kitty 'Tinkle' was named by an ex-boyfriend. Her full title is...

Princess Tinkle Bottom Bambi Doodle Bug!!

My mum tends to call her Doodle Bug the most as she reminds her of a WW2 Doodle Bug bomb, otherwise known as V-1 flying bomb!

It's quite funny really because she does bomb it round the house purring and that was the sort of noise the V-1 made when it was flying!

I often wondered how my dad managed to call my greyhound, Saskia - Sasquatch! Now I know!!

Saskia was a character in Eastenders many years ago, her boyfriend, Steve Owen, murdered her by hitting her over the head with an ashtray I always loved the name.

Shiloh, my terrier is named after the child's film, 'Shiloh' about a beagle who was badly treated by his owner and eventually came to live with the little boy who named him Shiloh.

Charlie and Lola are (were as Charlie is only one here now) my budgies named, again, from the cartoon characters.

As you can guess, my boys named all my pets, except Saskia as she is way too old for them lol!!

I've had sooo many rats (mostly rescue), I'll try and remeber their names......

Pig (after Pigwidgeon in Harry Potter, originally called Scabbers until I found out who he was!)

Peaches (from the book 'The Amazing Maurice and his educated rodents' by Terry Pratchet - My FAVOURITE book!)

Star (rats backwards)

Vince, Howard, Naboo and Bollo (The Mighty Boosh)

Others include; Hor Hor, Belle, Angel, Daxie, Spike, Ripper, Romulus, Remus, Mr Ratty 1, Mr Ratty 2, Hermes, Karma, Taz, Patch and Jack.

Also had a one legged cockateil called Mr Hoppity, a chinchilla called Barry, a mouse called Monty and my Dalmatian Jess (she came as a rescue with that name)

My dog came to me with the name Jack - a good solid name. He does however have a few nicknames.... Jack a Deemus (after Chaka Deemus (sp?) and pliers... Kiddliwinks or K winks for short, after he had a session munching on tiddliwinks (looong story and no, they weren't mine), Booblepoo or boopoo (no idea)

The Border Collie was unimaginitively named Tip as she had a white tip to her tail. She was often called Pookey after the teddy bear from Garfield as she was very cuddly.

i had 2 goldfish phil and wanda, (fillet of fish + a fish called wanda) hamster called withnail (+i) i currently have a cat called willow 3 reasons - came pregnant and ate me out of house and home - flatulence was a major issue (wind in the willows), she ginger (willow out of buffy is a redhead) and once the kittens were out she shrank dramatically (willow the wisp)!!

sadly only related by a marriage - but no matter , I have flying in the blood.

James Mollison a famous aviator in his own right( I know we are related but couldnt actually say what that relationship is) married Amy Johnson. I have loads of AJ memorabilia that has come down to me.

I suppose that still means we have somebody famous in the family - well actually we have two I am also very distantly related to Raymond Burr the actor.

would say to anybody thinking of researching family history - give it a go you might be surprised what comes up I know I have been

The NZ rugby team are the All Blacks

My kitten was All Black (and extremely handsome)

Hence his full title is Daniel Carter, Kitten Extraordinaire, after the first five eights (and sometimes underwear model) Dan Carter.

Must admit I think one is significantly more handsome than the other

my two new additions are Quaxo and Demeter whose names are mentioned in T.S.Eliotts "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and the poem "The Naming of Cats"

one of my guinea pigs was named Gus after Jeremy Guscott England Rugby player from the 90's and one of my rabbits was Bracken after Kyran Bracken (see below....yummy!!!) again an england rugby player from the 90's!

and Jasper got his name from being brought in post RTA by a traffic warden
