They will give you a reading list before each module. I started the first module 'contempary study skills', which is all about learning styles, harvard referencing, research and validation skills and thought "whats this? This has nothing to do with nursing". Since then I have completed a module on nursing models and am currently doing 'problem solving in veterinary physiology'. This module is hard work as it is case based, which is totally different to learning A&P 'parrot fashion', as we did in college. You are given a patient senario and have to research the physiological process the disease takes.

Sounds quite daunting don't it? It is an extremely well thought out course, where each module (and its content), follow a logical path and believe me, I am so glad it does because 5 essays and a mountain of research later, my first thoughts of 'whats this' have now changed to 'Ahhh......I see'.

You will be doing a minimum of 15 hours each week with tons of support from lecturers and other student through the class forum.

The diploma is currently not recognised by the RCVS so it is sanctioned by the University of London (although I have suggested that the course providers design their own badge).

Waffle on don't I? Basically I love the course and would eagerly recommend it.......

Good Luck

Re: RVC Graduate Diploma

Hi Debbie

Good to hear from someone who's on the course already! How are you finding it? I'm hoping I get accepted onto the course but also a bit about the level of study (although the lady I spoke to at the VN dept assured me the course can be completed when working in a 'normal' practice). Have you any rec's for reading lists or do you get that when you enrol?

Thanks again and good luck with it!

Re: RVC Graduate Diploma

Hi Maisy,
