Carpenters - "Close to You"

Played it at my dads funeral. He used to play it all the time when i was young on car journeys and it really reminds me of him.

we used to have an original version of this which used to put in an appearance every Christmas(its still around somewhere I am sure) - strange maybe but brings back lots of happy memories

Adele, Make you feel my love, I think its a beautiful song, originally by Bob Dylan, but her version is lovely, she has such a distinct voice, I dont know how to add it from u tube, but its worth a listen

Don Williams - You're my best friend

This was the song my dad chose to play at my mums funeral 6 years ago. I had never heard it before the funeral but it just sums up what my mum and dads relationship was and to this day it puts me in floods if i hear it.

Mines are little silly!

But I cannot listen to "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel, in the weeks before my dads death he played the album with this song on it all the time and this was his favourite song on the album, it really reminds me of him and those few months leading to his death and I cannot bear to listen to it!! Westlife released it a year after my dad's death aswell, which was a kind of comfort, like he was up there telling me it would all be ok, still made me cry though!

The other ones a happy memory but the song stings now when I hear it. "Love is all Around" by Wet Wet Wet, the lyrics

It's written on the wind

Well we would wiggle our fingers and toes and then for "love is all around me" he would tickle me! I always think of it as him showing me how much he loved me!

So this song holds that memory for me of being a kid and him around and the good times we had so makes me a little sad and happy all at once!

Pachelbels Canon in D, just a general tune, i played alot when i lost my pets, and also had it played at my wedding, just i find it a very personal song... shame they talk all over the song!

Come What may from Moulin Rouge, i played this alot when my Grandma was in hospital following a heart attack, she had another couple of year after that but died this January, so this always reminds me of her.

At my grandmas funeral earlier this year they played Westlife 'Raise me up' and Hero by Enrique Eglesias. I cant listen to either now, it just breaks my heart. Raise me up came on in Adsa a few weeks ago and i was stood at the checkout in floods . I miss her so much.
