Finn I would take advantage of the the four month break and revise everything over and over and over and over till you feel like your gunna pop with info.I will even post you questions mrs if you want me too!!You dont have to have the qual but you wont be able to do things what a rvn can(or rather shouldnt be) Youv fought so hard for it so get on and get the bloody thing!!you CAN do it and it WILL happen!!xx

thanks guys, spoke to RCVS today apparently cant re take in november as i thought, i now have to wait till march, they say i have to have a 4 mth break, would rather do straight away as still in my head, also went and spoke to the boss who has said my job is safe whatever the outcome!! have seen a job on here offering nursing work for unqualified nursing assistants, doing theatre work etc, makes you wonder y we bother to qualify then,!! i was under the impression that we couldnt continu nursing without that damn piece of paper !!!

Finn, I don't know when you were last at college but would you benefit from doing one of the refresher courses? It just might help to go over stuff that you found more difficult. Speaking as one who gave up for a year then wished I hadn't and also a mature student like you (no offence intended) PLEASE don't give up! Go for it this one last chance - everyone on here will be supporting you!

I thought a lot of practices are not necessarily always looking for qualified, my unqualified friend does loads of locum work and a lot practices are happy with this as long as they have good experience. Try not to feel down - it won't mean the end of your career

The fact that u have 1 more attempt, must make u want to give it another go!

I think you should try not to think about it (easier said than done) for a few days, a week ?

Then start going over your notes, paying close attention to areas your most weak at ?

Try not to think about sitting the exam for the 4th time, cause its not going to help. Just think its my last try, I need to get my head down and pass it (its the truth!)

thanks guys, but just dont know what to do, i can have a 4th attempt, but if i fail again then i have no job!! 5 years for nothing, legally i couldnt carry on, so frustrating, just feel i cant do anymore than i am doing.

Sorry to hear that Finnigan. I never know if letting the student know their marks when they are unsuccessful is necessarily a good thing. However remember that 6 marks could be a result of having a wibble on the day of the exam and not because you don't know your stuff (you're bound to be feeling under pressure).

Yes it's a chore to go through it again but you are so close to getting there that this next try is well worth it. Revise the Q+A books til you know everything in there, weak areas test yourself regularly and get people at work to ask you spot questions on various topics during the day - all of this will help.

Sorry to hear that lass....BUT DO NOT give up you will get there.....its sooooo frustrating missing out by only 6 marks but just goes to show next time you will nail it I am sure

have just been told can re sit 4th attempt, but if i fail that then have to start on new system, am not prepared to start again tho on new system, so will have to go one more time

I'm really sorry to hear that you haven't passed. It's always really hard and you must feel too defeated. It will happen. All i can say is look at the way you have been revising. I don't think it works for you there must be a better way to learn.

I'm not sure if your options are to repeat year 2 on the new course, check with your college, i don't think you'll be allowed to re-sit.
