I have a book 'Anaesthesia for Veterinary Nurses' by Elizabeth Welsh, can't remember how much it cost but it couldn't have been that much, otherwise I couldn't have bought it!! Incidentally, I bought it for myself in Christmas 2006!!! Its a brilliant book on the topic

I have the nurses book and its great. I find amazon are the cheapest for things like that.

Thanks for your reply, I think i might go for the vet nurse one. Seems expensive at the time but I expect that it will pay off when i pass my exams!

The BSAVA one is good but the nurses one is a bit more relevant (aimed at SVN to Diploma level). You can sometimes find a copy on Ebay but rarely for a much cheaper price than the RRP. Well worth getting though!
