This is a very accurate method and wil give the same results as the reader! One of the companies did send me a cardboard version which is essentially the same but can be a bit tricky to read. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;so if 1st measurement was 50mm and second measurement was 25mm the calculation would be 25/50 x100 =&amp;nbsp;50% giving you a pcv of 50%&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;you could also do this directly by measuring the two levels in a spun sample in a blood&amp;nbsp; tube and again will give you a rough estimate but wont be as accurate as a haematocrit tube as most blood tubes have a convex bottom.&lt;/p&gt;
