At the moment we complete recovery forms after every anaesthesia and we state the level of consciousness. We are wanting to incoporate a type of scale everyone can follow , like a numbering scale or something? Does anyone do this

Re: Recovery charts

I agree, that's a fab idea... :)

Re: Recovery charts

Fantastic idea, not heard of this before!

Re: Recovery charts

we used to use the glasgow pain score where I used to work. http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/painandwelfareresearchgroup/downloadacutepainquestionaire/

In human medicine they use the Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) have you thought about doing a simplified version of this?

http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Glasgow-Coma-Scale-(GCS).htm

Our recovery form was much like our anaesthetic sheets. Spaces were made for comments and medications given.

We don't use a number system, but I did go on a pain and analgesia course where they use a number system as a pain scale. I will try hunt my notes and give you the website or if I find my hard copy I could fax it to you.

Hope this helps
