a friend of mine has been on-line, and says thet a new study says that dogs can continue to shed KC for 3-4 months after infection.

Dogs continue to remain infectious even after the coughing has stopped so the phrase "its when they're more infectious" is bollox - just because they're showing an outward sign, doesn't mean to say they're more infectious. Dogs can be carriers of Lepto but most of them aren't walking around yellow - we routinely vaccinate against that!!

Not sure whether this was directed to my post or not? We push Kennel cough for every dog at our practice along with routine vaccinations. As kennel cough or infectious bronchitis is partly an air born infection then actually it is more infectious when they are coughing. We advise clients that their dog will continue to be infectious up to 12 weeks post infection but how many clients are realistically going to keep their dogs in for 3 months? Any advise on how to advise clients and help contain infections?

Thanks
