&lt;p&gt;I inherited the bair hugger so don&amp;#39;t know how much they are to buy. It might be worth contacting those lovely people at AAS medical. Also bair (!) in mind that there are ones made specifically for animals now which are called cocoon warming units - not sure if they will be more economical or not tho &lt;img src="http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/emoticons/new/Thinking_smiley.gif" alt="Thinking" /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I agree - bair hugger all the way - rarely get a post op temp below 37. Nick put me onto AAS medical for the blankets - they are great and machine washable. They sent me some free samples and I am exceedingly impressed - by the way thanks Nick!!!&lt;/p&gt;
