Her LH was a spaghetti of bones/tendons/nerves/skin from the stifle down and her LF pads were shredded and burned

Re: poor dogs... I hope your friend is alright! Must be devastating...

Xrays are interesting indeed.
We didn't even think it had a fractured bone as it was already malformed on its own so that made it even more sad..

Re: poor dogs... My friends pony got hit by a train, track inspectors left the gate open and the pony wandered up and as she had arthritis she got stuck in the middle as she couldnt walk over the cobbles and track.

Those xrays are rather interesting though, it's amazing how the body can do such as thing

Re: poor dogs...
One of our vets saw something similar once before.

Re: poor dogs... It was really sad but at least she is not in pain now.

I hope they are both running around with good legs some where!

It is the hard part of the job but then I try to think that we can make them feel better by letting them pass on

I'll echo what paula said - its by far, the worst part of the Job

Re: poor dogs...
I had a similar one as the staffi once - a labrador who had came in as a stray after halloween, must have been so scared with all the noise that she had ripped her skin so bad, the skin all over her chest and abdomen was completely seperate from the muscle mass - you could have almost put your whole arm down her side under the skin - very sad also.

Aw R.I.P to both dogs Little Demona - sometimes its so hard when there is nothing we can do, thats the worst part of the job. Hope you are ok x
