Noticed over the last few days his third eyelid is present and quite prominant. Wasn't at all worried as he is eating fine and generally seems quite well in himself and i put it down to him being

Re: third eyelid in cats

Hope he's feeling better soon, and that you manage to get meds into him!

Re: third eyelid in cats

Poor boy, hope he behaved himself with his meds!

Re: third eyelid in cats

Ok managed to take him to the vets today and he has a temperature of 102.6 and snuffly signs. Limited exam as he was growling and hissing but got metacam and noroclav so sure he will be fine. Now to master getting the tablets down him.

Re: third eyelid in cats

Oh dear, naughty kitty! Hope he doesn't drive you too mad tonight!

Re: third eyelid in cats

Couldn't catch him this morning to take him :-(

I would advise taking him to be seen. Like Frog and Cat mad says it could be something like a cat bite abscess if he goes out. I definitely think he needs treatment.

With regards to travelling. Maybe try using Feliway spray in his carrier next time you take him somewhere. Have seen this used with great success

Re: third eyelid in cats

does he have a fever? sometimes the third eyelid comes up with high fevers and over heating.

Re: third eyelid in cats

Thanks, i think deep down i knew i would need to get him checked out.
