We loved elastoplast but can no longer get it. Micropore and durapore are rubbish. We are not allowed to order from millpledge due to being a conglomerate practice and the company is not 'holding millpledges

RE: i/v tape

We order from a firm call IMS Veterinary.

We can have the cannula in for up to 3 days, we can sometimes have to change the tapes if they are stained or damp (from standing in water bowls etc) and elastoplast even with eaze off has in our experience been too painful for the patient to allow us to do this and maintain the iv. In patients which we think are very fractious or unlikely to stay still long enough to do this, we will use winged catheters and throw a few quick sutures in while they are sedated for xrays, unblocking bladder etc

RE: i/v tape

My favourite for dogs is durapore as it sticks really well and comes off easily if you soak it in spirit.
