We are considering the use of this on a dog with his second MCT at the moment (removed yesterday), classed as grade III previously. If we use it I will let you know!

No Sal I know that isnt anyones intention here at all- it is also a subject of interest to me as well - been there ,done it ,wore the t shirt - we'r still wearing it at the mo lol!

Its interesting though how other nurses see it this way - eg diabtetes,cushings, addisons , thyroid disease are also illnesses that will never be cured but also only controlled and can make patients very sick and very ill - sometimes a lot more so than what chemo will do to dogs/cats.It seems the word cancer and chemo seems to still be a death sentence - I thought it had moved passed this stage but it seems this is how many people still see it.

point taken - and I would always respect anothers view or belief. It is and always has been an area of interest for me, and as I have posted on other threads I have seen some good results with chemo. did not want to upset or offend anybody here

Slightly off this topic but......surely the whole point of chemo tx is to improve quality of life not necessarily cure the patient?Sorry Sal this isnt aimed at you at all but have read a few threads now with this - i fully understand people can have their own opinions however this is a very sensitive topic for some people on this forum and i feel some are forgetting that issue- i just hope it doesnt make peope feel they have made the wrong choice or question their own decisions.

- have not heard anything since, I am interested even tho I personally do not agree with chemo unless there is a very good chance of a good result and a decent quality of life.
