Bubble.....the wee dog in my profile pic, is atopic, she is not too bad, but has allergies to dust dust mite and in particular storage mite.....something which I am pretty sure is in abundance in the dry food bags.....and probably in my huge plastic dog food containers too.

Anyway I have decided to set up a wee experiment and raw feed her from now until the end of summer and see if it makes a difference in her chewing of feet and scratching of backside.

At the mo she is on no meds, I usually have her on atopica come the summer months as this is when she is at her worst, and for now she is only chewing a little, but there is no heat or redness, so basically she is at an ok time with her skin.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Re: dental homecare advice

I'm sooooo confused now!!! Come to my anaesthetic meeting & we'll discuss it over a Baileys - my treat since you're living frugally these days - oh wait you'll be driving...I'll drink on my own then!!!

Re: dental homecare advice

LOL - I am already drinking and definitely not bored

Just a thought - would death not also cure boredom?

I think there has to be existence before there can be a mode of existence and I guess that boredom, curiosity, etc are already modes of existence, or manifests of being of the Being that you are. So, if you don't have Being then you cannot have being, that being, I guess you cannot be bored.

Gold standard would be daily brushing, combined with a dry diet & good dental chews not pedigree (sweet, sticky, calorie laden). You can never do too much for oral health.

I can gauge how much the owners want to do & we sell a lot of Plaque off because people just don't have the time, can't be bothered or can't get near their pets' teeth. Some folk don't like Plaque off but I've used it on my dogs and it worked for them, so I'm happy to endorse it.

Re: dental homecare advice

Every dental we do is sent home with a "dental pack", with samples of food & information about brushing etc.

We do try to plug brushing, but as you say, most people look at you like you're mad!

Therefore, I tend to push diets more, royal canin. (I'm not a Hills fan)
