I moved from the my home in the lakes to London to do my training back in 2000 when I was 17, same as most other people and applied to all practices within a 50 mile radius (im actually quite sad as I still have a file full of rejection letters!).

Im now in North yorkshire and hour away from the parents so it great all round!

Moving away was the best thing I ever did. Moved back to home sweet home now but don't regret moving away at all

I'm still up north 9 years later! The cahnce to meet new people make new friends etc....

Newmarket is close to Cambridge cheap accommodation (provided you can put up with students) lol

Hi, Thanks for the advice. In my current situation, I'm pretty much open to the idea of moving around. I might not have the distractions of my 'comfort zone'

You would think so! When I was training, wanted to move half way thru my training, no job in my area (sussex), so moved to Stoke to complete my training now I'm working in 100% referral practice, The best place I've ever worked. So you never know what doors will open. Spread your wings! You can always move back home once you've completed your training.

Hi, yes Ive tried absolutely loads in the area, but to no avail as yet, I didnt realise things were changing so fast regarding the new training. So now I'm panicking a lil bit, But I will keep trying.

Sounds obvious but have you tried sending cv's out to every practice in your area? i literally bombarded my local practices til i got a place (it did take a few months!) and I'm now nearly qualified! I think you should maybe consider moving away, its worth it if its what you really wanna do.

Hi, Ive been reading alot of the posts about it, and it doesnt look good!! As I wouldnt be able to study full time as I do need to work etc. If i could only find a training post before the alcohol starts flowing!
