Definitely mention at your interview if you get the opportunity as it shows you have an interest in the subject and have done some background research - even if not pertinent to role. Theatre HCA's can do quite a lot in some hospitals, much is down to local policy but I know some scrub and circulate basic cases under supervision of RN's. Good luck, I love theatres (in case no-one's noticed!) Not sure how much membership is needed for full access (I am) but www.afpp.org.uk may be worth a look, Association for Periopertive Practioners (formerly National Association of Theatre Nurses). My subscription is £40 odd.

Great timing as I have an interview in an NHS hospital in December as an Operating Theatre support worker so will definitely do the OT one as well as the anaesthetic machine one for both vet and human areas of interest.
