Its good to get the heads up on things that arent all they seem. How many times have I gone for an interview at what seems an idylic practice to find after doing a few days trial (I almost always insist on this now as it gives me a chance to find out what hides beneath and also gives the practice the chance to find out if I will fit in with them) that first impressions were nowhere near right!

maybe this will eventually filter through to employers and encourage a little more honesty in their advertising?

on the flip side its worth remembering that a practice that is crap to one person might be just what another person is looking for. Advance warning is great it shows we are looking out for each other - but dont forget we are all individuals and dont all want the same things.

I always get suspicious when I see the same places advertising time and time again - usually with a month or so gap - have worked in some of them and the staff turnover is astronomical

Re: Trainee nurse vacancy that I saw, for all you that are looking

I went for an interview here i would advise anyone thinking its a good idea to think again thats all i can say.

Re: Trainee nurse vacancy that I saw, for all you that are looking

i went for an interview there for a SVN position years ago...from the excuses I got back then as to why they weren't a TP i'd doubt they'll ever become a TP.

But, it may be the way to get experience whilst waiting for a TP place...and its supposed to become easier for practices to become TPs with the new training protocol, so they may become one - who knows!

Re: Trainee nurse vacancy that I saw, for all you that are looking

I had the argument with them earlier in the year, along with other rather rude comments about my location - so I wouldn't go there even if they offered a training place to start tomorrow.

There does seem to be a few places about though that are talking about becoming TP's (I've spoken to 4 since I lost my SVN place in September) - on one hand that would be great as lack of TP's (or rather places in TP's) is the sticking point for so many of us, but on the other hand I wonder how many people are being misled and getting people but won't be able to train them officially when it comes to it.
Trouble is the word trainee just means they are going to offer you some sort of training - it has no relevance to official RVCS certificed training. That's great if you just want to gain experience, but not so great if you thought your chance had come.

Re: Trainee nurse vacancy that I saw, for all you that are looking

hmmm well no point in me applying then unless its a definate trainee position

Re: Trainee nurse vacancy that I saw, for all you that are looking

too good to be true guys!! not a tp yet there waiting untill the new vn training comes out so might be good if you want the exprience with the possibility of training!
