More help please! We got W9472, which had the correct needle (x-1 22mm) and correct size thread (3-0)...BUT it's only 45cm long, so we'd like it in 70cm. Have found it on the Ethicon online catalogue, but no W codes on there. They have a V code which is VCP460H. Would anyone be able to tell me the W code for it?!

If i ordered a catalogue from them would it have the W codes?

Ta. I have ordered the first code, we can send it back if it's not the right needle or just use it up and order a different one next time. The vet isn't too fussy, we want it for doing intradermal sutures cos we've got a round bodied needle at the mo, which isn't working too well!

our clinic uses vicryl 3.0 with cutting needle on a 75cm thread is W9444....

don't forget you have different types of cutting/ reverse cutting needles, and different lengths of threads

We use Ims a lot, BUT you do need to be a littel careful as the vicryl alternative is not exactly the same as vicryl! or it wasnt unless they have changed brands now?

Not sure when we got ours in (prob a while ago cos don't use it often), but the exp date on it is June 2013, so if you do have to get a whole box hopefully you won't end up wasting too much.

that would be great thanks Nick - or just need someone to get a box off their shelf and read the code from there - if they use the fine stuff......

I can order it on Friday next week (only open two day a week unless op days planned) and have it by the following week when we plan to do the operation if the instruments are ordered and here by then.

useful site for the different types, but doesn't give me the W code for ordering though. NVS can't take orders without it or their own code as they don't list by needle type, length, thickness etc.

They do have a specific veterinary catalogue too & their service so far has been excellent :)
