A friend of mine (also vet in same practice) started her dog on it as obesity still made her very hungry. She is absolutely thrilled with the Satiety, Flo is no longer looking for more and more food, she is happy on the Satiety and loves it!

We sell a far few sacks of it so our clients must be getting on with it ok! I sent the lady home with some samples the other day.

the royal canin labrador food is flippin brilliant!!..... and no i dont work for them! lol.

we had a rep come and do a practice talk on it and she showed us the video of the diet actually making a lab CHEW it food! and talked about the satiety effect it has, but i have to say i was not convinced........UNTIL........ i put a few labs on it and the owners are amazed! they eat their food much slower and beg much less.

it really does do what it says on the bag!

get some owners to try it and see for yourselves. and i promise i dont work for them!!!

We had a lady come in yesterday with her two labs. One is not the typical lab, would rather have a ball than a treat so no worries there! The other is starting to put on a bit of weight as he gets older as he's getting less active. I was so pleased that the owner came up to me and said she's trying to cut his food down because she doesn't want him getting fat. But he's waking her up in the night cos he's hungry! He's fed on James Wellbeloved so i've suggested the senior/light version to her, and if this doesn't work i've told her about the Royal Canin labrador food and satiety support. I am positive she's going to work at it and not let her boy get fat

I had a lab in the other day for a lump removal which weight 59.8kg!!! It took four of us to lift him onto the table, I have spoken to the owner about putting him on a diet, worked out costings and amounts which took me a good half hour to hour. Then her mum picked the dog up so didn't order any food I gave her my name and am waiting for a phone call! I think I may acost her when she comes in for the dogs stitches out!

Do you think it might be the fact that the dog is shaped like a table, so if you can balance a coffee cup on its back it is offically table-size?

i am trying to catch them early now ,the owners with the overweight dogs rarely believe you and are reluctant to do anything despite being told all the risks. i run puppy partys though so they bring in these little labs with an actual waist and i tel them about the fat dogs then and the risks oh yeah and the coffe cup test. so far it seems to be workin

Fat Labs - why do people let them get so obese!!! Do they not understand the health problems associated wtih it, poor dogs don't understand that the chocolate bar or the biscuit the human is offering is NOT good for them, the humans are the ones who need to be trained into correct eating habits for dogs.

I worked for 4 years looking after the Customs Dogs here in Australia and their Labs are all 25kgs and under, they are fit, toned, healthy and happy. How a dog should be...

How do you convince the owners that their animal needs a diet when the owners themselves look like they need one.

It makes me so sad when I see a fat animal that is huffing and puffing because it just managed the walk from the car to the practice.

We too had a fat lab that came to us for weight loss hydrotherapy sessions, he weighed 60kgs and had bad skin problems, all weight related.

His owner who was a lovely lady would not listen to us and would come out of the hydro session and buy him 6 pigs ears for being a good boy!!

Needless to say I think she got so fed up with us nagging her about him, she has now gone to another practise. You just can't get through to some people.

Surely with the new Animal Welfare bills that have come into operation in Britain - these people who have dangerously overweight pets are breaking the law. Who is going to be brave enogh to report them to the police?? Are the police really going to bother??

My Nans Cavalier has just tipped the scales at 19.80Kg!

Im absolutely horrified!

But she will not listen to me or anyone, even multiple vets have spoken to her but she just wont listen. Apparently her dog never eats anything either- but when it does she says that she wont eat 'dog' food so is fed on steak, cream cakes,crisps etc oh and dont forget the milky coffee!

Oh and of course she doesnt like to walk- she will only walk with men!

It makes me so cross, especially since her little dog is not even 2 yet!!!!

Slentrol's fine but you still hve to beat the owners up to get them to change their feeding habits otherwise the weight will pop back on after going off the selntrol

Wish owners would admit their fault at over feeding their pet!! does my head in when all seems fine (bloods etc) and they say 'oohh he hardly eats at all!!' - yeah right!!

we have a few porky labs come to us! its so sad..... our vet went on a home visit to one that could hardly move! she said it must have been 60kg+!!!

makes me mad!

im a fat labrador hater too!!!!!

last summer i had a chocolate girlie come into the surgery at nearly 40kg! i convinced her owner to come to weight clinincs and now she is a walking advert for royal canin!!!

i used the obesity food to get her to her targat weight of 30kg, we never had any problems and the weight came off easily. then we tried putting her on vet size maxi adult as a maintenence ration and overnight she morphed into a hungry scavenging monster!!! - the owners rang me in despair and we swapped her onto the royal canin labrador food - the change was immidiate, she was happy and satisfied on a much smaller ration - with no begging! the owners think its fantastic! she really looks fab now and i have managed to get her before and after pics into our local press to try to encourage more fatties in!!

I've recently got a 38kg one down to 33!!!

I put her on RCW Satiety and she's lost that much in a few months.

She has very good owners with their heads well & truly screwed on who actually listen to what we tell them.

Am still chuffed to bits!
