I've found really expensive ($200) human ones on the net by wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that sells veterinary/animal shaped/cheaper ones!
I know that practicing on the real thing

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

That website is cool

We have one of the larger models at college, trying to intubate the dog is hard as its dry! lol

Contacting your suture company is best, cant think who it was....the people who do the new alfaxan, ran some cpd earlier in the year and they had a suture session too. I got their suture technique book so maybe they have models too?

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

Sorry I glued mine to a bit of wood for extra security, otherwise they fall all over the place when pulling the sutures through

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

You know the little chamois pads for cleaning car windows??? They're fantastic! The local pound shop sells the 3 for £1, well worth it cos they're leather they even feel a bit like skin

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

what about suppliers of suture materials, i would have thought they would supply something.

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

Wow they've got loads of different things on there!

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice. I just found this site: http://www.rescuecritters.com/

You can buy suture pads though, I think Vet Direct used to sell them for about £20. Ebay is often a good place to look though as they tend to come up often on there.

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

bananas are quite good too

Re: Fake limbs to practice suturing

I used to practice on oranges.
