Thanks. It went okay - well up until I was informed that one of the receptionists wanted the job also - my heart sank :(

I've not heard back yet but my friend who works there told me that the receptionist is having a trial day tomorrow.

Been crying all night now. So fed up. I won't get another chance at this.

This page has information on the diploma course that is now running in replacement of the NVQ. Different places/colleges do different things, some people are doing 2yrs, some 3yrs.

Hi everyone,

I'm back after a couple of years! I have an interview for an ANA job this afternoon and I am so excited but very nervous too. I was doing this a couple of years ago but the practice that I worked for was unbearable so I quit (and all the other nurses quit after me too).

I was just reading through so old topics on here and noticed in this thread about them changing the SVN course. Does anyone have any more information about this? Did it happen? i know I am only interviewing for an ANA position but I am hoping that they may put me through the SVN course too afterwards as they currently have a SVN who will be doing their final year in September so would be finished the same time I finish the ANA... if I was to get the job of course!

Ooh, I'm so bad - I hadn't heard about this at all.......? I'm currently doing the ana course and my employer said they plan to send me to college to do the svn next year. wonder if they'll scrap that now then???

So am I, and probably at least half of the people we all know who have been chasing the trainee jobs for years.
However I do wonder at the point of getting a trainee job in a TP now, as they won't let you go to college until next September, and that's when the new rules come into force.....and should mean you don't need to be in a TP, and also if you were you would need two days off a week to go to college.
I wonder how employers are coping with the uncertainty of the new rules, or even if they know about them (one place advertised and I was offered and interview but they hadn't heard of any plans to scrap the NVQ's).
