Apparently it's a hereditary disease, often affecting Border Terriers.
I am convinced my 4yr old border terrier Jess has it.. she used to shake when

Re: Canine Epileptoid Cramping Syndrome

Millie has gone super weird!
In a way I'm quite glad it has come to this because both my mum and my neighbour (who lets the dogs out for us when we are at work) are really bad at giving the dogs all kinds of treats so Millie is slightly tubby. Mum has been reading up about it and has told our neighbour that she can only give Millie carrot as a treat.
Hi! I'm new on this site and in this forum, just happen to stumble on this discussion. I love dogs and last time our dog (we call him Chubby), keeps on vomiting too. But I'm amaze because before he vomits he dig a hole in the yard and there he put his vomit. Gross but isn't it a peculiar action of a dog? or just common to all canine?

I've got a 3/4 border 1/4 cocker spaniel and she had this funny episode where she licking the carpet and would then walk really slowly and be picking up feet up very high. Took her to see my vet and we ran some bloods on her (full bio chem, haem and bile acid stim) and all came back normal. The vet loves borders as much as I do and said that he had recently read about canine epileptoid cramping syndrome and thinks that is what Millie has.

She has it very mildly if she does have it and it's like she goes into some sort of trance and as soon as I call her she snaps out of it. It is very strange. She isn't on any meds at the moment and I've not changed her diet but if she was to get any worse then I would. She is fed on James Wellbeloved anyway so quite bland stuff. Poor little border terriers!
