Ok? Faeces formation varies on diet. kits at 10 days old can have full formed faeces, but it usually means they aren't getting all the nutrients they need. :)

Re: hand rearing kittens
Yup using a nice warm wet flannel after every feed and inbetween cause she urinates alot! The 'faeces' she is passing is bright yellow and very soft. She has passed some hard brown 'pellets' earlier in the week which someone said she struggled to do. But she hasnt passed those with me.

Its annoying because the vets see it as a lost cause cause it will just have problems later in life etc etc plus it was brought in from a area which has alot of FeLV + cats. So getting advice from them is hard because I don't even think they know!

Re: hand rearing kittens
lol! It's probably worms, she's not really going to be passing faeces yet anyway. From what age can you use Panacur liquid, isn't that from a few days or have I just made that up?!
Where are you getting your information?

It's not likely to be worms as the worms don't really reek havoc until they start moving round a bit more. It's prolly just a normal kitten pot belly from their internal organs being too big for their bodies yet! they should be passing faeces from the day they are born. it's usually quite runny and bright yellow the first few days and then brown/orange or even black following formula feedings. They should generally have a passing of one or both at each feeding by stimulation with a warm cloth/flannel. If they haven't passed much in a 48hr period they need medical attention.

Re: hand rearing kittens

I also forgot to ask are you feeding any colostrum or probiotic with the Cimicat? What does the faeces look like and how often is she passing? kits tend to have a little bit of a belly as their insides don't quite fit their bodies yet! But if it's really big and hard and she's not passing anything I would worry about her anatomy down bellow sometimes they can have misformed genitals. 10 days is a bit early to be worming i think and sometimes worming can cause bloat as well! So i guess you will just have to see on Friday. but if it's only a little fat belly I wouldn't worry. If you want private message me and I can show you some photos of some healthy 10 day old kits for comparison from my March litter.
