I agree with Maisy and Caro

In my first locum job, I wore my blue scrubs as I knew that was what the staff there wore, however, they provided me with a new pair with their logo on

I've emailed practices with confirmation of hours/pay, accommodation etc. As for uniform I wear my own and like Caro wear the green tunic and black trousers option. Without the confirmation or agreement I have found this is where things often go wrong!

I am one of the few people that has a written agreement. It does not cover everything but it is something and l feel very strongly about it. There is to many bad stories out there. I would not rely on the locum company l want to speak to the vets in person, if l couldn't then l wouldn't go.

Glad to see that POHM also has one but l would say always issue it. There is only one place l have a long standing one ie signed inital agreement a time ago as times/dates are so flexible! it would be impossible to do otherwise and have had no problems with them.

If it is a new practice to me then I send them an email just confirming everything that we have discussed/agreed. This can include accomodation, bedding, OOHs, etc. I also have a contract which I can/sometimes do issue.

Thanks for that...it really helps. The first agency I worked with got everything in writing for me...but the last few havent...so i havent had anything in writing...maybe not such a good idea....

I always get everything in writing. Where, times, lunch breaks tax/ni (not applicable now as l am a ltd company but before l used to) date until paid from when invoice placed and has to be returned signed to confirm... no sign no go.I won't pay for accom and l also have that in writing that it is at their expense and l will not put towards it.

Also if they say accom. l check up if l will need bedding and what about cooking facilities. I provide my own uniform if they want me to use a different tunic they provide again fine one place does do that but l will only wear my own trousers which are black. I am not prepared to buy clothes. My normal uniform is dark green tunic and black trousers.
