This allows the aneasthetic equipment to be used outside the MRI room. We do run into problems regarding "dead space" due to the lebgth of the tubing. Patients are able to have IV fluids that are linked to an extension set and passed through the wall too. As far as monitoring goes, we use a capnograph, with resp and an oespageal stethoscope linked to an extension set. Hope that helps.

Re: MRI compatible equipment

Hi Emma,

Anything you use in the MRI lorry has to be non ferrous so the only monitoring you can have is
-side stream capnography
- Fibreoptic Pulse oximetry (nonin make one look up pro-act they do them but about 5k to set you up)
- ecg (you need pure Copper wiring with the monitor outside the field-quite expensive)

as for temp probe i doubt there are any which are compatible with MRI.

They use a standard burton's anaesthestic machine, its stainless steel with is non ferious and therefore not attracted towards the magenet. It's a wall mounted one the oxygen cylinder is in the control room away from the magnetic field. RE: temperature probe unsure, as I said we only use capnography and most temp probes have metal in them and the cables are not long enough to reach from a machine outside of the magnetic field.

Re: MRI compatible equipment

Hey there Em the truck is here on monday and I'm scheduled to run the list so will ask them. with regards to capnograph you just have to have a long sample line and have the actually machine outside of the magnet field not sure about temp.

Re: MRI compatible equipment

Any information would be great......we are looking for MRI compatible capnography and temperature monitoring and any companies that can supply these?

Re: MRI compatible equipment

If you still looking for some info, we have MRI and CT scanner :)

Re: MRI compatible equipment

That would be great, we are looking to get a capnograph, we would also want to measure temperature
