I quite fancy doing it but would obviously have to approach the boss for cpd - just want to choose the right one that be of most benefit and get a qualification

Re: Animal physio

Don't shot the messenger

I agree not a cheap course, but none of them are and for me being able to have a full masters degree is what I want (and for a vocational masters it is cheap), along with being recognised by insurance companies so that people actually want to use me

This is a relatively new field of expertise and I think there will be more and more courses appearing over the next few years that are much more reasonably priced for the VN wage

One point I had made to me the other week was that anyone can call themselves an veterinary physiotherapist (just as with veterinary nurse) but insurance companies and vets/owners alike are getting to realise this and so are being much more careful at selecting what they will pay for/refer to/allow to touch their animals. Hence my reasoning for sticking with the NAVP.

Re: Animal physio

[quote user="Caro Laithwaite"]

Cost for those of us starting this year is £7500 payable in 6 instalments over the first 2 years. You can get grants for it and also are eligable to apply for scholarships at HAUC.

I dont know much about the Nottingham one but from what I understand it is set to cost £7000 for a certificate, from an organisation that is yet to be accredited or approved by any of the profession. The 2 day course etc are often a good way of getting into this area, but bear in mind all cases should be referred by a veterinary surgeon and animals treated under their guidance.

Hope that might help a little feel free to PM me/ask on here if you want to know anymore about the HAUC masters

Re: Animal physio

I've done a 2 day course on animal physio, had to travel 2hrs for it, but..
