thanks Nick - couldnt be bothered to go and look again and post the link - getting lazy! AND I have my last interview tomorrow to see if I get a job with the jobcentre - this will be my third! I have done the pyschometric tests, I have done the numeracy and literacy tests now all i have to do is get through the final interview! and I will be a civil servant

does anybody look on the job centre sites - saw quite a few animal based vacancies on there only last night - and these are all around the country not just in one place. I believe the one mentioned above was there but there are others. if you havnt looked already try directgov and then the jobs section

thats ok SLT, didnt think you were aiming it at me, can imagin how frustrating it is for you at the moment. def sounds like its the practice fault in this case, sounds like he wouldn't be very nice to work for, they'r also advertising for a QVN atm, so one to give a wide birth, me thinks! Hope you have some luck soon x

its not ur fault snowb...i didn't actually mean for my comment to sound as if it were aimed at you. It's either the practices' fault or the website, but by the sound of it, it's more like the practice are to blame for false advertising!

Very misleading! sorry about that. it said TRAINEE nurse not kennel assistant or something along those lines so thought it was! Lucky we have this website otherwise you could apply, get the job and then realise what a p***k your new boss is!

Oh god, this sounds awful! Congrats thou for getting a placement in what seems a much better place!
To be honest, i think you can tell a lot about a practice just with the way they publicise they're adverts....the advert itself is for a start misleading as they're not even RCVS registered and it also says nothing about hours, salary and other important details!! ....I was tempted to also ring them up but i definitely shall not bother now haha!!

that practice is the one I had a big run in with several months ago.

They advertised a trainee position then, and I rang them up and asked about how they would train and send to college etc their SVN - they asked me what a SVN was!!!
When I said as they didn't know then what an SVN was, did that mean it wasn't a RCVS registered trainee nurse position, he then said I shouldn't be cheeky as people like me were desperate for jobs and it wasn't the way to go about getting one, and people like him were doing us a favour by employing us!
He also asked if my geography was any good as I lived in Kent and the place was in Hertfordshire, so i ought to check how far away it was before ringing up! - now that I call cheeky!!!
In fact I was so livid that I emailed a place much further away .... and the rest is history as I now, for the time being, have my placement ..... so actually I'd like to thank the guy for his attitude on the phone .

Hi Snowb,

I've seen this vacancy, but I don't think this practice is a TP as they're not on the list of TP's on the RCVS website?? I also typed in their address to double check and it does not say they are RCVS registered.......bit of a misleading advert??

I do!! ..............but not in this area as it's way too far away!! If you hear or see anything in the South West or East please let me know, i've been searching high and low for a TP for what seems a decade!

i guess no one wants trainee positions anymore then
