there's not a lot of places anywhere.

Keep trying, it took me three years to get the place I started at 3 weeks ago - and I'm having to rent a room away from home for part of the week in order to work there.
Having said that, if my enrolment with the RCVS doesn't go smoothly then I will be packing it all in...

Called and emailed yesterday. The nurse I shadowed on the work trial said the head nurse would call me back yesterday afternoon, and she hasn't.

i don't mind if they have not decided or chosen someone else. The practice manager was talking about getting a locum in to start asap whilst I was cleaning the reception and then the Head nurse bumped the job ad up whilst I was there, so for some reason it's probably not meant to be.

Just a tad annoyed as they rang me on the Friday and asked me to come on the Tues. Then rang me back and asked me to go in the next day (Sat), which I did.

I spent £20 on petrol, it took me nearly an hour there and back, did the same on the Monday too. My Dad (who I hardly ever see) came up to visit that weekend, so I sacrificed a day out with him. I just think it's really rude. And I can't believe I was stupid enough to think I actually had a chance and ditched my plans last minute.

I would give them a call - I was in a similar situation, and it was only the fact that I called them that got me the job! Apparently it was between me and another candidate, but the fact I called (they were due to ring me on the Thurs - I rang at about 4.50pm that day, and left a message, and rang back on the Friday morning) gave me the edge.

I recently had this problem where they said they would get back to me the weekend following, and I didnt hear for 2 weeks after that!

mine took weeks to get back to me, so long i gave up and started applying for other jobs then they rang out of the blue and offered me the job lol after being in a busy practice i can see where time dissappears through the day and meetings at ours are few and far between so they may just be taking ages to get together and decide

They probably have time to make a call but perhaps haven't had the time to think it all over and come up with a decision?

Aww great news! Thanks, I think I will give them a call.

I don't think they'd not have time to make a phone call, but what do I know! I just need to know these things so I can look at other options, as I'm running out of time via applying for Uni.

I would call on Monday. It may be that something's come up - they might be really busy all of a sudden or something. Don't reckon it'd be pushy - it'll show how keen you are.

I had my interview for college today and have been given a placement so I'm really excited now. Can't wait to start studying.
