no its down to the vets to sort out. Nurses dont come in at night at all. If we have an emergency op in the night its down to another vet to come in.

Unfortunately we dont have any accomodation.

What is the night check pattern?? As you don't do on-call is it down to the nurses to sort it??? Also is there any accomadation? Sorry for lots of questions

I went to an interview like that quite a few years ago. I actually got the job but the practice manager left a copy of my offer letter on the photocopier and everyone knew my salary before I started.

They were finding it hard to get a nurse and when I said that I wasn't prepared/couldn't afford to take the job on such a low wage they increased it. The girls there tried to make my life a misery because of my pay but I'm slightly thick-skinned so just got on with the job.

I can, in a way, understand that they were a tad annoyed but I didn't know what they were earning when I started and, to be frank, I didn't care as long as I had enough to live on.

Now, I always ask the salary before I apply as I don't want to waste mine or their time

Hi Loopy we arent a training practice yet but it is in the pipeline over the next few months. Unfortunately we would be looking at training our existing staff first as they are all long term unqualifieds and we are committed to getting them to VN status.

Hi i have actually just got a job Ashfield Vets for one of the nursing positions available and one of best points of the job advert was that it was up front and honest about the role, the hours and the pay - very few others are that up front - thats what caught my eye and made me apply.

Really looking forward to starting and can't wait! and if anyone is thinking about applying then you should do it.

There seems to be a big THING about disclosing what practices are willing to pay VNs or trainees for that matter. At the end of the day its part of the package! Not just how many boxes of biscuits they get through in a week! A friend of mine saw a job add where they actually wrote "we have a whole cupboard deadicated to our biscuit supply"

As if that is gonna get peeps to apply! I sorry but at the end of the day we work to live not the other way round! and see why it should be so different in nursing! People who oh well you do it for the love of animals and money aint important. Yes I do love animals, but also the money is important! So well done Ian rant over!

Shane is right, what's the point? I've seen some that won't disclose hours required. Imagine the disappointment applying for a role, that turns out to be 5hrs on min wage :(

Position: Customer Service Advisor
Salary: £5.75 per hour rising to £6.15 per hour after probation period
Location: Currently recruiting at Grimsby and Rotherham
Hours: Part time - 16 to 20 hours per week to work on a rota basis to cover operational hours of 8am-8pm over 7 days per week. (hours are subject to change)

Hospedia are currently recruiting for a Part Time Customer Service Advisor to work at hospitals in Grimsby and Rotherham. The role will require the successful applicant to promote & sell Hospedia services to patients in hospitals.

Hospedia provide innovative services that provide patients in hospitals with their own TV, radio, telephone, Internet and gaming console - all at the bedside.

This is NOT an office based role and 95% of your time will be actively spent working on the wards.

Duties to include:

* Promoting & selling the use of bedside media entertainment TV, Phone, Internet, Radio and Games
