We cut up a large body bags and use it to wrap around the wedges like a Christmas present. The tape doesn't show and makes them wipe clean, without spending extra money on the PVC coated ones. We have to replace the wrap every couple of months, but it works quite well.

We have the PVC coated ones too, much easier to keep clean from an infection control pov

I use bubble wrap to cover them. Far more durable than clingfilm and easy to clean. Good luck

Another vote for cling film - cheap, conformable, easy to apply and easily changed. I've also used sticky back plastic but found that it wasn't as good as I'd hoped - it didn't conform as well and after a while the adhesive sort of leaked at the edges, picking up hair and making it difficult to clean properly. I didn't notice it interfering with the radiographs though, but most of the views we were taking didn't have wedges close enough to an area of interest for it to matter that much.

You can use cling film but probably need a few wraps

you can get PVC coated ones. Bit more expensive but are wipeable
