What does everyone use for covering foam x-ray wedges ? I’ve been just washing them after use but hate them being covered in hair. I’ve tried sticky back plastic but it makes lines on the radiographs .
Thanks in advance for the ideas

RE: What does everyone use for covering foam x-ray wedges?

we used tiger bags and taped them

RE: What does everyone use for covering foam x-ray wedges?

We used to do this! The tape doesn't show and makes them wipe clean, without spending extra money on the PVC coated ones. I've also used sticky back plastic but found that it wasn't as good as I'd hoped - it didn't conform as well and after a while the adhesive sort of leaked at the edges, picking up hair and making it difficult to clean properly. I didn't notice it interfering with the radiographs though, but most of the views we were taking didn't have wedges close enough to an area of interest for it to matter that much.

RE: X-ray foam wedge covers

You can use cling film but probably need a few wraps

you can get PVC coated ones. Bit more expensive but are wipeable

RE: X-ray foam wedge covers

I think I've worked in practices where they have used cling film
