We had a rat in for a very large lump removal from its right groin/lower abdomen. This has left a large wound to heal. We have placed intradermal sutures and glue as the rat is a known chewer. Any ideas

RE: Can you suggest what to use for a rat body suit?

baby sock can be used and cut with leg notes.

RE: Can you suggest what to use for a rat body suit?

Hi You could also try a "shark fin" bandage to prevent him being able to reach the wound ( in addition to analgesia of course)

RE: Rat Body Suits

[quote userid="48018" url="~/f/clinical-discussions/32527/rat-body-suits/178733#178733"]
I haven't tried this myself yet but it might be helpful?

I would be making sure that your patient is on multi-modal analgesia as prescribed by your veterinary surgeon. I have used in the past stretch net and make shift a body suit for them. BC's are not recommended as they need their paws to eat and wash their face in their daily regime. I have used laser light therapy with them as well as this helps the wound heal nicely.

RE: Rat Body Suits

I haven't tried this myself yet but it might be helpful?
