We use it in patients under ga as a one off/also with or without CRI would love to implement its use in our OA patients.

I can't comment on the whys and wherefores, but yes, I have been asked to give s/c injections in consults as prescribed by the vet.

Yes, I have used it in my dog as advised by a locum vet and subsequent pain management specialist vet for my dog with Osteoarthritis and It does work well for him - 0.5mg/kg weekly sc as his arthritis is now quite severe. I notice at the later end of the week, he gets a bit stiff. Some vets I have worked with start of with 0.5mg/kg sc monthly but this depends on the assessment of the animal. Most of the animals I have seen it used in do get some relief to varying degrees but not a lot of studies into its use in animals.

Just popping up to offer some insight into what I see across different clinics. I'd say that although some experts support this, and in human analgesia it seems accepted as a therapeutic option, the situation in vet practice is less clear. In brief, its not often done
