&lt;p&gt;We usually advocate nurses charge a flat fee of &amp;pound;50 for being on call and then their locum hourly rate per hour they work past the first call out. Reason being even if you are not called out at all you still can&amp;#39;t go anywhere far as you need to be available to start at very short notice, but if they + you have a busy night with lots of checks / new patients coming in your pay is&amp;nbsp;increased by a commensurate amount.&amp;nbsp; Hope this makes sense!&lt;/p&gt;
