Nick I love a bit of silicone tape, hadn't tried as stirrups but will definitely try next time I need to place stirrups.

predominately used when stirrups are required such as with a Robert jones dressing. Applied directly to the patients limb. Doesn’t become super sticker either, so easy to remove when performing dressing changes

Ooo that is cool! How do you use silicone tape and on what types of bandage? Where do you get your silicone tape?

The only pink tape that goes anywhere near my dressings is silicone tape used as stirrups. Like others have said if your bandaging is that bad that you need to anchor it to the patients leg then there’s something wrong with your technique

Haha I love the Nora Batty reference!! You could always direct him to our bandaging angels or open vet wound library group on Facebook, as we recently did this feature on there and it gained a huge amount of interest and shares. Perhaps seeing it on a big forum with thousands of views and hundreds of shares may convince him. Otherwise you could suggest taping his socks in place for a couple of days and see if that changes his mind!!!!

Might stir up trouble this comment, but I'm from Yorkshire, so blunt is how things are said

If you think you need anything adhesive at the top of your dressing to 'hold it in place', you need more training on bandaging.

I wish somebody other than me would explain this to our newest vet - he is the only one who insists on that pink ring and that is what he has been taught, it isn't his fault its just that I don't think he believes me we don't do it now. Its years since I used a pink garter to prevent the Noras (Nora Batty wrinkled stockings)
