I've decided I want to learn some horse anatomy - can anyone recommend any good books please?

I am just working on this at the moment.

The default with this platform is that anyone who replies to a thread is automatically subscribed and then gets emails every time someone replies.

Problem is that on VetSurgeon, that just meant people were getting deluged in emails. So we made the default NOT to be subscribed, but there is a subscribe button top of the right hand margin which, if you see it, you can press after posting. But if you then reply again to the same thread, it unsubscribes you again.

The answer?

I am asking the developers to add a subscribe/unsubscribe toggle to the forum reply box. The default will be subscribed, but you will be able to unsubscribe quickly at the point you reply.

Second, I'm adding a new feature for anyone using desktop or android: push notifications. A discrete, transient message that pops up on your screen when there is new content you subscribed to.

I'm expecting improved subscribe/unsubscribe early next week. It really is essential for people to know when someone has replied!

RE: Horse anatomy book recommendations

Hi Arlo

er, am i being stupid? Which picture book is that?

Oh yes, by the way (everyone), notice how the quals you add to your profiles are now displayed in your posts, which all helps give people's posts some context, which is especially important when talking about veterinary clinical stuff.

RE: Horse anatomy book recommendations

Hi, I can highly recommend this picture book as a base line, Dechra also do a great Equine flip chart which is free and you can download the images off their website too. Then there is a horse anatomy colouring book which again is super useful but not too complex.
