Cyst still well attached but looking quite raw at the minute. My vet advised if it starts bleeding often, Rosie gets annoyed with it etc etc, it can be removed under local anaesthetic.

At the moment, its not bothering her at all, it never has - more me lol!!

Tonight we have a very relaxed and chilled out girl!

Re: Infected Cyst

Thanxs Saskia, she is back to her usual self now thankfully x

Re: Infected Cyst

[quote user="scotlass"]

Hi Paula,

yes, if it needs to be removed, it will def be a local anaesthetic. I just want to wait and see what my vet says on tuesday.

Its funny, I work with vets everyday, but my acupuncture vet loves Rosie and she loves her too! Its as if they have an understanding! Rosie goes into the room and just sits on the bed waiting for her treatment!!

And, she also knows Rosie and her history etc.

Re: Infected Cyst

my lab, who is nearly 12, just had a large abcess removed under local, she was absolutely fine and it has healed a treat x

Re: Infected Cyst

Is it possible to remove under local anaesthetic? We had a vet that used to do small lump removals/ stitch ups under sedation and local anaesthetic. This not always possible, so as I say check first.

did this with a couple of warty type discharging growths on one of my dogs (vet diagnosed as infected cysts and done with veterinary advice - took a week or so to fall off but then caused no further problems) Have also done this with a couple of skin tags on my arm - so I can tell you definitely that it doesnt hurt
