so I am currently in Australia working as a Locum rvn :) wondered if anyone else has done anything like this before and also if it’s worth remaining on the UK register?
I am on a visa for a year here so not sure if it’s worth staying on

RE: locuming abroad staying on register?
I do most of my cpd online by watching webinars as it is difficult for me to get to any of the courses as they are too far away. You can print a certificate after you have listened to it and as most of them are 1 hour long, you can usually listen to 15 a year easily.
I do some of mine this way but there are also some of the coursera courses online which are relevant to us (and low cost or free)

RE: locuming abroad staying on register?

VetCPD do some good on line training. I'm an RVN who is non-practicing but has retained my R as I am in an allied field and also would like to keep my knowledge current. I am based outside the UK in the second of 2 small countries with no formal nursing registry. We are a minimum of $1000 US away from the nearest seminar based CPD. I note the RCVS wants us to switch to 15 hours a year as opposed to a rolling 45 over 3 years; and also that while vets can register as practicing outside the UK (not sure if that brings concessions), nurses can't. All in all, it makes life difficult.
