Do you have 2 sizes of thermovents? 1 small that is cylindrical and a larger type that is a big circle?
The smaller one, intended for human paediatrics is fine for under 10kg, and the larger for over 10kg. But there is a crossover area in between of course! Very small patients may struggle with the dead space so id be cautious under about 3kg without a capno.

Generally very easy to use, just position between ETT and breathing system.

Be aware there is a risk of them causing high airway resistance if they become saturated with water/mucus/blood. Higher risk of this in dentals so just keep an eye out.

They don’t do much to increase body temp, but do reduce temp losses from respiratory gas. If you use a low flo circle it won’t add any benefit really, but they are useful on non-rebreathers in procedures over 30min.

They should really be single use so you need to factor them in to client costs. Buying in bulk from intersurgical direct may work out cheaper. Also check with ACE consumables.

Hope helps.
