Absolutely. That's why I then convert it to an interval between drops, but this is for an OSCE scenario and I think the OP should stick to what they feel happiest with. My experience is the OSCE calculation generally gives something simple so you will get 1 drop every 1 or 2 seconds.......

So, either is okay for an OSCE? What about practical application... I learned the interval between drips method....

The observation I would make is how the heck do you measure 0.17 of a drop?

If you need to adjust the drip rate on the giving set for the example given, then an interval of around 5 seconds between drips is surely easiest to do?!

Or have I missed something?

Both are correct and both are acceptable as OSCE answers. Personally I work it out as drops per second then do 1/[drops/second] to get the time between drops.

Just be careful that when you write it down you are absolutely clear with the units and what the number equals.
