Ooh, this is a great idea for general use, so am keeping this product in mind! However the OP wanted ideas for litter that *doesn't absorb or affect the urine* as the urine is needed as a clean sample for lab tests.

Thanks again for the top tip tho

RE: Environmentally Friendly alternative to Katkor

Hi Catriona,

At IMS Euro, we have an eco friendly cat litter...

GreenCat Clumping Cat Litter

is a 100% natural clumping cat litter that uses a unique patented formula that instantly absorbs odours.

The corn and wheat kernels clump on contact with urine making cleaning so easy — you can even flush the waste down the toilet!

Green Cat is:

made from a sustainable plant source

lightweight

soft - hence paw-friendly (ideal for kittens as well as cats)

harmless if swallowed

virtually dust-free

very economical

I hope this helps, and the link to this can be found here. https://imseuro.co.uk/veterinary/green-cat-litter-20-litre.html

Saw this top tip on another forum....

Save all the flat round plastic snap off tops from drug bottles, that we normally chuck out. Then use them as a substrate. Cats reported as happiy to use this. Still plastic but recycling them, so to speak ,and free.

??

What do you think?

Going to give this a go as get through shed loads of KatKor doing geriatric urine screens.

RE: Environmentally Friendly alternative to Katkor

[quote user="Alison Clare Hickman"]
