We've just got some sensitive scales so that we can weigh them instead. Does anyone use this method? If so any advise of how best to do it as I've noticed all

RE: Weighing schedule drugs for stock check

What sort of scales are you using? Weighed bottles at first use (snap top/metal seal removed) and wrote this as start weight on box/in DD register (as double check). Bottle weiged at day end to checks grams lost (total MLS used) to check against register. Did it daily for accuracy as any longer period between checks was a pain to find any 'misses'!

RCVS inspection fully approved of this method as bottle not compromised by content withdrawals to check remaining volume and was quite accurate (can never be quite 100% unless using hub-free needles...).

*Edited* as you are calculating the difference in weight (equivalent to MLS used) in the bottle, the difference in bottle weight between bottles is irrelevant You just need a starting point for each bottle!
