We bought a new multi parameter monitor about a year ago, with a capnograph attachment. When we got it we had the company we bought it from

RE: Long term iso exposure

have you checked back on invoices/delivery note as to what was supplied - if as the company say the scavenger attachment is sold separately then it should show separately on an invoice. If it wasn't on the invoice then it wasn't supplied and therefore you haven't lost it.

If it wasn't supplied then why wasn't it supplied? if the company are selling them then they are acknowledging that they are needed for the capnograph to function properly - unless they are also saying the scavenger is not essential, in which case why are they selling them?

safety wise does the person who did your cpd have any information that may be useful to you on long term exposure?

dont know if this is useful?

Not sure about long term effects, but if you are still concerned you could get your staff to wear an iso monitor and send it off to be checked x
i thought about this but now we know it’s hapoening I don’t particularly want to do a busy day of surgery again with it open! Even though by now it’s just a drop in the ocean!

RE: Long term iso exposure

Not sure about long term effects, but if you are still concerned you could get your staff to wear an iso monitor and send it off to be checked x

RE: Long term iso exposure
Has any staff had any health problems in the last year? Hopefully you haven't had any pregnancies in the work place too.

a couple of us get headaches after long GA’s. No pregnancies with us, fortunately.

Thanks for your advice. I’ll see if there’s a health and safety anyone we can speak to about long term effects.

RE: Long term iso exposure

I think u have every right to be concerned and worried. Thats awful of the company. That should have been highlighted when they set it up! I would definitely be having words with them.

I dont know if it has any long lasting health concerns... Be interesting to find out. Do you have a health and safety officer that u could contact and chat to? They may be able to answer ur questions or put ur mind at rest.
