I have a question regarding dipensing flea and worming products on health care plans.
I work at a vets4pets and we have about 2000 clients on our health care plan (and counting!). We dispense 3 months flea and worming at a time.

The repeat health care plan advocates cant be done by the vets, as time is a huge issue. If I miss a day of doing repeats, it means I then have about 40 to do?! because of that we have a 4day ordering policy but still run behind. our other issue is storage of all of these prescriptions for when clients don't collect for a while.

RE: Dispensing advocate

Hi. I also work at a Vets4Pets and we also have the same problem. We have it as our policy now that it is 24 hour notice for all Advocate just like it is for all POM-V meds. We will put it onto the drugs requests and it's the vets who will pop it onto the clients account so it's ready for the following day. Then when the client comes in reception team can hand it over and put a note on the client comms that they've collected it.

We have separate boxes just for the reafy to collect advocates and we have keep them in the office in reception so it's easy to get rather than disappearing off out the back.

We've been doing this for a few months now and so far it's working well. Hope this helps!
