Also professional opinions on the matter?
I'm very much dubious about it...particularly regarding campylobacter, salmonella and even toxoplasma in cats?

Ed, RVN

No problems with raw feeding if it works out foir the person/pet - although I think the main concern is where children or immunocompromised people are present in the household. The pro-raw brigade seem very intransigent to me, and continually point out that with good hygeine / kitchen practice there should not be a problem - the fact that dogs like to lick their arses / people's hands / faces etc. never seems to get a mention..

My dog does just fine on kibble as do countless others - if this was not the case I would be happy to try raw feeding if it wasn't for the fact that I also have a 6 year old son.

I tried many other diets from cheap butchers to Hills expensive ones and he experienced flatulence and diarrhoea. I tried Natures Menu purely out of curiosity but have not looked back! My dog now enjoys his food, licks his bowl clean, has less flatulence, his coat is shiny and most importantly he’s a healthy dog. I’ve fed him it for 3 years now and not experienced any negatives at all. Hope that helps!

RE: Evidence for and against raw food diets?

https://www.naturesmenu.co.uk/vet-area/vet-training
