Just having a peruse at the vets now website as they have apprently updated it and l am confused about the decapitated dog on the home page... should it be decapitated or is that a mistake as it doesn't look good.

Hey I have worked at both the Glasgow (part-time/locum) and Nottingham (locum) vets-now clinics, I would highly recommend working for them. I found it challenging and rewarding, no shift was the same and I was always kept busy. The staff were always really nice and the vets have a huge respect for their nurses and use them to their full potential, or at least that is what I found! Pay works out pretty well, make sure you work out your full benefits etc though as at first glance it doesnt always seem good until you realise how much CPD you get, how your shifts work (this depends on the clinic and hours you work) so how much time off you get and holidays etc.

MAST bandages came up on the old vetnurse I think? - stands for 'Military Anti Shock Trousers'. Its a sort of pressure dressing applied to limbs in cases of extreme bleed out which helps to preserve blood pressure. Well thats how I understand it anyway - but if anybody else has a different explanation please put me right!

Have a look at their own website, I think they are a bit more specific. I think part time varies,from filling the gaps of weekend shifts and when other staff are away/off sick, to doing regular weekends/nights. I've had a good experience, plenty of encouragement, training and a few hectic shifts so far. Good Luck!
