Your data sheet is dated 11/16 and has been superseded by version 2 dated 8/17...

Can I ask, how much do you dilute it down and did it make a big difference?? we have bottles and bottles of this stuff to use up before we find something else and we are all hating administering it!!!!

as I was saying ..... not something we can prove with the IV's. I would love to hear more responses on this as I need to come up an alternative soon enough.....

I only just saw your response above after going through the whole lot this afternoon!! (think my computer was having a meltdown and didn't load this responses properly!

I cannot understand how some and sting , some cant. I cant describe how bad it is, its much worse than cerenia that also has the preservative in it...... 90% of them SCREAM on injection. not so much with IM. we are also starting to wonder whether it is causing some sort of Phebitis as many more IV's are having to be replaced in animals on Bupe more than 24 hours at the regular intervals. This is not something we can really prove nanc I .

I have been through the compendium and all the multi dose options I see on there have this Chloroscresol in it ....... INCLUDING buprecare.... so now im more confused......

MY problem is, that we are a practice in Bermuda, can only buy in bulk due to costs so I cannot buy a single bottle to 'try out',

maybe we will have to go back to the vials (after we have used 66 bottles of it up

Buprenodale (Dechra) contains chlorocresol 1.35mg/ml as a preservative.

Vetergesic Multidose (Ceva) also contains chlorocresol 1.3mg/ml as a preservative.

Buprevet (Virbac) contains cholorocresol preservative ??mg/ml (NOAH datasheet does not specify mg/ml - so I need to do more research). Unless anyone else can help me with this info please?

Meow1950 - I'd be grateful for your continuing report on any adverse or non-adverse reaction to injection with Buprenodale; as I would love to hear continuing reports from colette fitzpatrick Nick Shackleton with regard to your practice choice of meds and what you do (like Nick says they use saline to dilute it...). Plus anyone else wanting to report on adverse (or not) use of Vetergesic Multidose, Buprevet Multidose, Buprenodale Multidose... or other products.

Also anybody else have reports on adverse reactions (or none) to Animalcare Buprecare Multidose?

Yes, it's empirical evidence, but this has fired up my 'Need to Know More About This Interesting Subject I am a Big Geek' neurons.

I had never used multidose buprenorphine til my current practice and had heard about it stinging etc. But tbh I haven't noticed any difference with the one we use. Pretty sure it's buprenodale

I'm interested in the zoetis 2ml multidose with no preservative at the moment - cant for the life of me remember the name of it tho . If has no preservative so I can see how this could be really handy for cats

Data sheet for Animalcare Burepcare Multidose indicates it contains propylparaben and methylparaben as preservatives

Am no expert, but using common sense approach, am thinking the reported adverse reaction to one product (BUPREVET) over the zero reported reaction in the other (BUPRECARE) is down to the different preservatives used???

Interesting, well to me it is - I am a bit of a geek...)

We have buprecare (which I think is the animalcare version) and we don't tend to see issues comparable to what you guys are describing! No idea if it's the same preservative, but it sounds better!

It’s due to the preservative so I’m told. We use multi dose bottkes but tend to dilute with saline. This also can’t be used for sub lingual administration so have the coals as well

We had awful trouble with it - animals literally croc rolling when administered. We went back to the 1ml vials - much better! x
